In categorizing her membership, NASME adopts MSME classification based on dual criteria of employment and asset base according to the National Policy on MSMEs as follows;.

Micro Enterprise

Enterprises whose total assets (excluding land & buildings) are less than five million naira with a workforce not exceeding ten (10) employees. They Include start-ups,etc.

Small Enterprise

Enterprises whose total assets (excluding land and buildings) are above five million naira but not exceeding fifty million naira with a total workforce of above ten(10), but not exceeding forty-nine (49) employees.

Medium Enterprise

Enterprises with total assets (excluding land and buildings) are above fifty million naira, but not exceeding five hundred million naira with a workforce of between fifty (50) and one ninety nine (199) employees.

NASME CARDINAL POINTS

Capacity building

The Association helps to organise regular workshops, seminars, lectures, summit neccessary and needful training programs to help members.

Access to funding

The Association helps members to get information on different options available for accessing funds. These include equity participation, dept financing etc.

Access to marketing

NASME helps to expose products of members through information of exhibiton opportunities and the likes.

Access to technology

The Association also helps members to get access to current technology on how to build their business to international standards. The Association is ina symbiotic relationship with FIIRO who can give technological assistance to members at subsidized rates.
